Meet Our Team
David Da Silva
David has been with us since 2015, and became a partner in 2017, and became owner in 2022. He brings a wealth of experience of over 20 years owning his own mixed animal practice in the outskirts of Johannesburg in his native South Africa. He immediately felt at home at Shellharbour Veterinary clinic with its friendly and vibrant staff and the professional and caring way in which every pet is treated at the clinic. David, his wife and three children consider themselves very fortunate to have ended up living in the beautiful Illawarra.
Victoria Young
Victoria joined us in June 2022 to replace Will Tyler after his retirement.
She has been in the Illawarra for 7 years now, having graduated from CSU in Wagga in 2017. She lives here with her husband Joel in their home they built together as well as their hoard of animals. She loves camping and various outdoor adventures. Vitoria has gained a lot of experience doing companion animal and exotic animal work.
Sharon Adams
Sharon is the longest serving member on our team.
She has been with us since the very start of the clinic in 1997, and is normally the go-to person when anything needs to be found, ordered or remembered.
Sharon recently celebrated 25 years at Shellharbour Vet!
She has worked with all the practice owners since the beginning, and in spite of this, has managed to come through this with her sanity and sense of humour unscathed. One of her passions is being engrossed in a good book on her Kindle.
Jenny Ferguson
Jenny has been with us for over 18 years and is probably the hardest working member of the team. When she is not run off her feet at work, she is normally to be found trying to keep her property mowed and tidy, and her array of animals well cared for. Jenny is passionate about native wildlife and ride-on lawn mowers.
Beck Buttenshaw
Beck is the newest member of our nursing team, but by no means new to vet nursing. She comes to us with a wealth of experience nursing and leading nursing teams at other clinics in the Illawarra. Beck joining our team in 2021 has been seamless, and it feels like she has been here for years. When she is not hard at work at the clinic, she can be found doing the mum runaround.
